Data from the COVID tracking project on coronavirus cases, test results and more

How many novel coronavirus (COVID-19) cases were announced today?

The COVID Tracking Project is a volunteer effort to compile federal and state data in regards to new COVID-19 cases, including number of positive and negative tests.

Here’s the latest data, updated on October 8:

Positive tests: 7,511,236

Negative tests: 98,656,345

Cumulative hospitalized: 416,711

Currently hospitalized: 32,124

Patient deaths: 203,591
