Diversity in medicine: Perspectives on patient care

Why the U.S. health care system needs diversity among physicians, and how patients will benefit.

Patients of color are more trusting and compliant if they work with physicians who have similar backgrounds. Diversity leads to cultural sensitivity, so physicians learn from each other and can translate that to better patient care as well.
