Drug prices: Additional provisions to help beneficiaries

There are several ways the U.S. Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) could use its existing authorities to put guardrails in place on the Medicare Drug Price Negotiation Program. Utilization management and increased transparency both could help, said Adina Lasser, director of public policy and government affairs with the Alliance for Aging Research. The Alliance also published a report with Manatt Health to outline what CMS could do to ensure greater benefits to enrollees.
