FDA bans PFAS in food wrappers

Forever chemicals most likely are in you, your patients, possibly your drinking water, and in various natural environments around the world. But the U.S. Food and Drug Administration announced that grease-proofing materials with per- and polyfluoroalkyl substances – PFAS – will no longer be sold for use in food packaging in the nation.

Iron during pregnancy

The U.S. Preventive Services Task Force issued a draft recommendation stating there is not enough information to determine benefits of screening and supplementation for iron deficiency during pregnancy. It’s an important topic that needs more research, according to the task force.
