Cancer surgery awards

The fight against cancer is getting a $150 million boost in the form of awards to the Advanced Research Projects Agency for Health that will pay for research for surgeons seeking more successful tumor removal strategies for patients. President Joe Biden was scheduled to announce the awards this week as part of the continuing Cancer Moonshot to cut the cancer death rate in half by 2047.

Memba’ mpox?

In 2022, the World Health Organization declared a global health emergency over an outbreak of mpox, a disease endemic to Africa that has spread around to other countries. This year, a deadlier version of the virus is spreading as the public has largely forgotten about the disease and its risks.
