Diversity in the workplace can help workforce well-being.
The health care workforce should reflect the people they serve. A diverse and inclusive workforce should be part of the present and future of the U.S. health care system to benefit patients and the people who take care of them. Victor J. Dzau, MD, president of the National Academy of Medicine, discusses the Academy’s National Plan for Health Workforce Well-Being, which has seven priority areas to improve work conditions for physicians and medical staff, and ultimately improve patient care.
