Trump administration health priorities: A survey asks Americans for top issues

The health of the nation must be a priority for the new administration of President Donald J. Trump, according to a new survey from Gallup and the Emory University Rollins School of Public Health.

But health, health care and medicine cover a large number of diverse topics and issues. “Public Health Priorities and the Pathway Forward” is a new report that shows Americans' priorities for health care problems that need immediate help, long-term solutions, or both.

This slideshow presents some of the findings from the latest report, compiled from responses of 2,121 adults in the first two weeks of December 2024. The results were published Feb. 4, 2025.

The survey tallied respondents' rankings of health care and public health issues as a highest priority, second highest priority, or third highest priority. The percentage in this slideshow reflects the net total of people ranking the issue in the top three priorities.

All data come from Gallup and the Emory University Rollins School of Public Health in Atlanta, Georgia.
