Medical Economics recently completed our 2020 Physician Burnout survey, and the results show that physicians are facing an unprecedented crisis.
91% of physicians we surveyed told us they have felt burned out at some point in their career. More than 70% said they were burned out in the last year.
And then COVID-19 happened.
So what should we do about physician burnout? How can we create a health care system that supports our physicians?
And how do you know if you are just stressed or suffering from burnout?
I sat down with Wayne Jonas, MD, a family physician, researcher and author who is executive director of the Samueli Integrative Health Programs, to discuss ways physicians can address this crucial issue.
