Those who book their travel early and do a bit of homework can stand to save a significant amount of money, particularly if you're planning to visit these 8 cities.
As the 2014 holiday season draws to a close, the travel industry is beginning to look toward 2015.
That’s good news for consumers, because those who book their travel early and do a bit of homework can stand to save a significant amount of money. Among the best places to look for such data are travel booking sites.
Priceline.com analyzes its booking data each year and makes many of its findings publicly available.
For instance, the website found Las Vegas to be the most sought-after destination this year.
“Within the US, Las Vegas continues to be a hot spot in the New Year, followed by New Orleans, Miami, and Fort Lauderdale,” said Priceline.com Travel Editor Brian Ek. “All 3 cities flew to the top of this year’s list of places to visit.”
However, popular does not equal affordable. For those seeking an affordable vacation in the New Year, Priceline compiled a list of the cheapest places to stay, based on hotel booking data from 2014. The 8 cheapest locations are below
