How many novel coronavirus (COVID-19) cases were announced today?
The COVID Tracking Project is a volunteer effort to compile federal and state data in regards to new COVID-19 cases, including number of positive and negative tests. Data on vaccination comes from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.
Here’s the latest data, updated on February 8:
Positive tests: 26,796,705
Negative tests: 119,876,347
Number of hospitalized patients: 81,439
Patient deaths: 454,134
Total vaccine doses distributed: 59,307,800
Patients who've received the first dose: 31,579,100
Patients who’ve received the second dose: 9,147,185
