Controlling glucose

Moderate to vigorous physical activity improves glucose levels, but researchers are not sure of the timing during the day to obtain the best effects. A new study suggests evening exercise has the most beneficial effect on glucose homeostasis in sedentary adults with overweight/obesity and metabolic impairments. “In clinical practice, certified sports and medical personnel should consider the optimal timing of the day to enhance the effectiveness of the exercise and physical activity programs they prescribe,” one of the study’s corresponding authors said in an accompanying news release.

Strong accusations

Ruthia He, the founder and CEO of digital health company Done Global Inc., was arrested this month for her alleged role in a $100 million health care fraud scheme. The U.S. Department of Justice said He conspired to distribute Adderall over the internet. The case prompted a statement from U.S. Attorney General Merrick B. Garland: “Those seeking to profit from addiction by illegally distributing controlled substances over the internet should know that they cannot hide their crimes and that the Justice Department will hold them accountable.”
