Survey of cardiologists shows potential revolution in heart care – if patients follow doctors’ orders.
Technology, medicines and physician insight have led to the precipice of a new golden age of cardiology.
Yet, challenges remain in translating those into actual patient health.
With new advances in artificial intelligence and minimally invasive procedures, the stage is set for a revolution in cardiology, wrote David Ouellette, KS&R health care director.
“These advancements are reshaping how we approach heart health care, improving both the management and treatment of patients with heart conditions,” Ouellette said in the report. “However, our study also highlights the significant issue of patient compliance and the necessity for enhanced patient education to improve treatment outcomes.”
KS&R, a national strategic consultant and marketing research firm, surveyed 429 cardiologists across the nation. They were asked about the biggest challenges to patient care, and what factors would make it easier for doctors and patients to improve heart health.
This slideshow presents some of the findings and possible solutions. All data come from “Navigating the Heart of Medicine: Challenges and Innovations in Cardiology,” published by KS&R with EMI. Percentages represent the proportion of cardiologists who say the issue is the greatest challenge or best solution.
