Meet MedWay, a new business support program for independent physicians in California

Some physicians truly enjoy running their practice as their own small business, while others manage it as secondary but necessary support for medicine.

What options are there for doctors who want to practice independently, with a trusted operator overseeing the daily duties of business?

In California, MedWay, a management program started by the California Medical Association (CMA), hopes to fill that need. MedWay started in spring 2025 as a subscription service that can manage human resources, payroll and other administrative support needs in smaller, independent medical practices.
