August is back-to-school month for many children (and adult learners too). Here’s a refresher on the best nutrients for youths to maintain healthy immune systems as they return to classrooms loaded with fellow students and the germs that tag along with them.

Wiping out medical debt

Patients seeking health care may visit doctors’ offices, hospitals and health care systems. But once their health is restored, their wallets may be depleted. Patients in New Jersey this week will have some or all of their medical debt eliminated through a partnership with that state’s governor, legislature and the organization Undue Medical Debt. The total debt wiped out: more than $100 million for more than 49,000 people.
