The Senate Finance Committee voted 14-13 along party lines to recommend the full Senate consider Robert F. Kennedy Jr. as the next leader of the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services.

Committee Republicans, including Sen. Bill Cassidy, MD (R-Louisiana), voted for Kennedy, while Democrats voted against. Previously Cassidy said he was undecided about Kennedy, even after two hearings with the Senate Finance and Health, Education, Labor & Pensions committees.
